WindowsとLinuxをシームレスに使う·andLinux MOONGIFT
MoonGiftさんのところで紹介されてたので、試しに入れてみた。
MinGW/Cygwinの中途半端さには嫌気がさしてきていたものの、Colinuxは導入が面倒くさそうという理由で今まで使ったことが無く、かといってVMWareとかVirtualPCも使いにくいなぁと思っていた矢先だったので即導入。
インストール
真っ当なインストーラーが付いてきてるので、これに従うだけ。多分一からUbuntu入れるよりも楽。
注意点としては、本家ページにもあるようにHDD残は2GB以上、メモリの容量設定、サウンド、andLinuxの起動手順、windows側とのファイル共有、ネットワーク設定、くらいか。今時HDD残を気にしないといけない環境はノートくらいかなと思うけど。
割り当てメモリ量
本体側搭載量が1GBなので、適当に384MBを選択。256MBだと心持ち少なめなのと、VPCとかでの経験則的な。最近メモリ価格が底打ったとかいう噂なので、来週にでも買いに行こうかな。
インストール後
tapデバイスのインストール時に名前の変更がされない（ローカルエリア接続２とかになる）ので、このままだとandLinux側でデバイスの認識ができません。
従って、再起動する前にデバイス「TAP-Win32 Adapter V8 (coLinux)」の名前を「TAP-Colinux」に変更。
起動してみる
QuickLaunchとかからTerminalを呼び出します。
インストール後初起動時に

見ての通り、開発系ツールはほとんど入ってません。
ただ、ここからがいいところで、apt-getが使えると。もう敵なしですね！最初期には /etc/apt/sources.list は全てusのホストになっています。ネットワーク的に遠いので、全てjaホストに変更してやりましょう。
あとは
# apt-get update
してやって、好き勝手にパッケージ入れればいいんじゃないかな。synapticも使えるし。
とりあえず勢いでPymolのコンパイルしてみたけど、普通に通って笑った。ただやっぱりnativeにGLデバイスを叩ける訳じゃないし、結局はローカルのLinuxにX(Xming)で繋いでるだけなので、グラフィックスの描画とかは非常に遅い。ハードウェアスペックもあるだろうけど、実用としてはかなり辛い。
見た目はwindowsネイティブアプリっぽく見えるようにはなっても(というかXming使えば基本的にそう見えるよね)、やっぱり完全にnativeじゃないわけで、その辺は割り切りが必要かも。サーバーにするにしても中途半端すぎるし、使い道は比較的限られてしまうかも。最近だとHPとかNECで格安サーバーが売られてるし、それを一台調達してきた方が実際問題早くて楽かも。
